I'm impressed with the punctuality and quick analytical powers of both McHale representatives-- "Peter," who came to assess the problem, and "Paul," who came remedy it. Both were very agreeable, presented their analysis well, and, in Paul's case, executed the tactical plan with determination and apparent expertise.
Two points. 1. The yellow jackets whose nest was attacked may have been reduced in number, but they still fly in and out of their home regularly and in profusion. I think they may need another attack. 2. We have not seen any rats at all-- inside or outside the house. The spring rat trap set in the closet in the part of the house that used to be a barn remains unvisited. There are no rat corpses anywhere OUTSIDE the house, either. I believe that we are to expect a follow-up visit from Paul next week. He may want to consider before visiting whether he wants to step up the measures he plans for eliminating the yellow jackets' nest and ending the tenancy of whatever vermin are living in the house.
