Pleasantly surprised how well everything went.
Expected horror stories after listening to other people tell stories of other people who got fumigation service " they didn't say it was actually 15 years ago ".
I expected all the roof edges to be broken, drip edges crushed, vent caps and whirlybirds to be bent and broken, and valleys to be caved in. My buddies also said be prepared for lots of shingle and sheet metal damage.
Actually, non of that happened. I did replace one whirlybird because is was bent and didn't spin straight. The guys did a great job with all my roof poke thru's and skylights and relatively new shingles. Just as good as they found it. Wind wasn't blowing at 7AM when they took tenting down, so nothing spinning...
They carpeted all the corners, taped up up the wires and phone stuff, fitted the tenting really well so it didn't flap around and sealed it up tight.
Hey, if it's sunny when you have your tenting done, before they close it up tight, have one of the guys take you inside with the sun shining through the tenting....it's like being on another planet...it's one spacey walk through your house... :)
They whole process worked out well. Even if you think you've asked all the questions, you'll still have more, like I did, and I got answers for all of them.
There is no residue, no smell, it's the same way you leave it...except the termites have gone to the great wood pile in the sky.
I'd recommend this company if you have a termite problem that needs fixing. All went way better than expected for me.
Oh, and one thing they didn't say I should tell you about. On your day to be tented, make Sure you are ready to leave that day and get out of the way of the crew. When they show up, they get right to work immediately...they have a lot to do, and would really like it if you are all prepared to leave immediately, or have already made arrangements and gone, with one person coming back to your house to transfer keys and be there for questions. Don't have vehicle in garage "like I did". When they get out of their truck, they "attack your house" like they are going to put up a Big Top tent for a circus show that night. It's amazing how fast they get your place tented when you see how much there really is to do.
I know this might be TMI for some of you, but this is how it really is......
