We have used Terminix since we purchased our house in 1992. We have always followed their recommendations and felt that the services they provided always provided positive benefits, until now. Their representative recommended an exclusion service and seal for our crawl space for a price of $949 and to follow up with pest control service. The company that came to provide the service looked under the house and said everything was good. Then they looked in the garage (we spent two days moving everything away from the walls) and said that the hot water piping did not go into the crawl space and everything was good. They did not do anything with two holes in the back wall the the terminix rep. said would be fixed. They did place vent covers on all of the crawl space vents and put some sealant in where the heat pump piping went under the house, but not enough to fully close the opening. They were here working for a total time of less than forty minutes. Within six hours, four of the vent covers popped off. I repaired the covers, filled in the holes in the garage and filled in the opening by the heat pump piping. If I had gone to Home Depot, I could have bought and installed the vent cover for less than $150. No one came to reinspect the work and I have not heard anything about the desired pest control service. We are very dissatisfied with the inflated price charged for this substandard service and follow-up action.
On the other hand, we also had them replace our vapor barrier under the house (under a separate charge). The Terminix installer was here for several hours, by himself, in the summer heat, and did an outstanding job installing the barrier and taping down all of the seams.
