The problem I noticed was that there seems to be a rodent nest in my crawl space above my kitchen ceiling fan. Because the crawl space is shallow and the access is at the other end of the house Andrew wasn't able to get to that spot. I'm still left wondering how to deal with that issue even if all the potential openings are closed off. How do I get the mess out of the ceiling fan and above it???
