We got our home treated for carpenter ants which were making their way into the house. We also got the Sentricon bait system for termites because we saw some in the yard. We live in a wooded area and were concerned about destructive pests. I just discovered while on vacation that Sentricon is the same system used to protect the buildings in Colonial Williamsburg. We have seen not a single carpenter ant inside since treatment. It's impossible to say whether or not the termite system is working - time will tell on that one - but there are no obvious signs of invasion.
