Been using Whitworth for well over 20 years including our home in Tacoma. Used for trees and shrub spray. You sprayed this Monday, Jan. 16th which was day before today's "monsoon" rains. I'm not sure when you came on Monday but we were home by 13:00 and didn't see anyone . You didn't leave the normal bill either. So we are going on the assumption the spray was worthless since we probably had an inch of rain today. I cleaned my driveway because I knew the rain was coming, you must have too. Not good we are thinking of cancelling the service. We'll let you know.

We apologize for the lack of communication. The technician treated the property but failed to knock on the door to let you know he was there, as is our standard protocol. I can assure you he was there, and the treatment was worthwhile. I am planning on having him call you. This is the time of year when we perform the "dormant" spray on ornamentals. This is an extremely important treatment for the trees and shrubs, as it kills (by suffocation) overwintering eggs and insects. We use horticultural oil, a highly refined oil made for this purpose. It kills while the oil is still wet. In fact, when it dries it no longer has any killing power. If it rains heavily the next day or even an hour later, it has no bearing on the outcome of the treatment. During this time of year we must do these dormant treatments when it is not actively raining, even if that time period only lasts a day or even a half day. This is common industry practice. If we miss this treatment, all of the pests that are dwelling in dormancy on your plants survive and immediately attack new growth as soon as it appears in the early spring. Again, we apologize for the lack of communication, and we're working to improve that. Regards, Erik, G.M.
