Rick from the Asheville office was sent to my house due to a carpet beetle infestation. I have an allergy to these insects and was miserable with contact dermatitis. Rick informed me that my intense itching was my imagination and I probably had "scabies." He did not do any kind of inspection nor did he attempt to find the source. He claimed the insects were under the insulation, even though he didn't even look. I spent an outrageous amount on new insulation and pesticides without improvement. He recommended a crawl space dehumidifier, saying that would solve the problem. That was lie number two. I agreed to the $2950,00 installation because I was so desperate. The dehumidifier did not help the insect issue at all. Glue traps were brought in to confirm the identity of the insect. When Rick picked them up, he said, " The only bug on here is an ant." The insects were later confirmed as carpet beetles by their entomologist. Pesticides were sprayed in, under and around the house without any improvement. 3 months later, after numerous calls to Clegg's, an entomologist was sent to my house. He was very knowledgeable and I am grateful that I was finally given correct information. He said the problem was in my attic all long and all the other treatments performed did not address the real issue. When I asked why I wasn't informed of this before, he said "Rick probably didn't know." Why send out an employee of a pest control company that doesn't even try to find the problem? I now know that it is Rick's job is to make money for the company even if he has to deceive people to do so. I am very disappointed in this company and angry that I was not only given incorrect information, I bought unnecessary pesticides and was spoken to in a patronizing manner. I plan on using the product suggested by the entomologist and treating the attic myself.

I would like to apologize for the negative experience you had with Rick Johnson. Clegg's does not believe in recommending services that are not needed.
