Menninga Pest Control is a family owned and operated company that was founded by Ken Menninga in 1979. As the business grew, Ken was joined in his business venture by his wife, Judi. Ken passed away and Judi continued to run the business through 2009.

Shawn Van Gorp then took over the business in January of 2010. This achievement has been made by taking great care of our clients through honest, dependable service. Our clients are not just customers—they are our friends.

Scheduling the service is not the best. The scheduler leaves a message on my phone the day BEFORE the planned service date to say that the technician will be there tomorrow. Of course no time was given. Since I currently have several issues this month, I did not look at messages until late in the evening. I did not call to move the service date as it was just one more issue to deal with. So I went about my appointments that I had already scheduled during the prior weeks. In my opinion, the scheduling of appointments shows a complete lack of consideration.

I don’t think a person should have to pay for a service before it is performed. The technician that came out did a super job. He was efficient and pleasant. However the having to pay before the technician comes out is like paying for a service before it is completed. Kind of like paying for a car repair before you get your car back!

I had a whole home exclusion service to prevent further entrance of rodents into our attic. The necessity for the service was explained to me in detail by Richard Mcneil, and the actual service was performed professionally, on time, and with courtesy by Tim Peacock, Alaina, and Caroline.

Service is very good but better coordination between dispatcher and field staff is needed. Tony came by Wednesday to check attic traps several days after dispatcher indicated. Tony contacted me roughly 30 minutes before arrival on a day I was not expecting. Had I not been home his trip may have been wasted.
