We wanted an annual search of our home for active termite damage. The inspector examined our house quite thoroughly and found no such activity. He noted a rotting tree stump at a side of the house and said it could invite an infestation. Not having had a termite issue for close to 20 years and having had the stump for ten, I declined to accept his offer of a $585 plan to prevent one. I found the sales pitch a little off-putting since I was paying only for the annual tour of the house. Again, my sole objective was the inspection, not a sales call, particularly without evidence of termite activity. This seemed quite a departure from Capitol Pest's previous inspection visits, and I'd rather it not be repeated.
