Thanks to Bell Cow, my family and I can stop worrying about the attic leak nightmare and finally get some peace of mind knowing its fixed and what caused the leak. The answer, a very large birds nest in the dryer air duct and holes around the vent! Hot dryer air and cold winter air/rain by the exit of the air duct created condensation ruined the drywall. Not sure why the old homeowner removed the bird cage and didn't replace it. To all you new homeowners, make sure you have a bird cage over your air duct vents!
