My experience with this company has not been good to say the least. My hot water heater, which is in my attic, blew. I went through American Home Shield to address the issue. They contracted Bell Cow to come out and assess the situation. A guy came out, stared at the unit for 5 minutes, and told us we needed a new one and that he was going out to his vehicle to place the order... And that a few hours later a couple of guys would bring the new unit and install it. We didnt hear anything else that day. The next morning, I call Bell Cow and they tell me it will be 3 to 5 days because AHS has to send them the unit... okay... that same day AHS calls to tell me that there is $625 in charges that they do not cover... understandable. Two more days go by and Bell Cow calls me to collect the $625 and tells me they will be out in 3 more days to replace the unit. They show up only to find that the original person that came out, which the techs told us was an HVAC tech... not a plumber, took incorrect measurements and in turn ordered a water tank that was too big to fit through the attic opening. In addition to that, he also failed to check that the water was completely cut off which caused further damage(we tried to do this ourselves as soon as the issue occurred, but were apparently unsuccessful) When I called the office to try and figure out a solution, I was told that my home warranty doesn't cover "access"... I told her I understand that, but your tech made the mistake...and I was essentially told that I needed to get either an independent contractor to expand the opening or pay one of their contractors $385 to do it... And to boot, they also needed another $110 for a part they failed to mention in the original agreement. As a result, I have had to turn them away on principal... this happened today. So now I have a call in with AHS regarding the integrity of this contractor that they assigned to my issue. I am hoping they can come up with an amicable solution.
