The person that came out suggested that my husband had saturated the nest, but would be happy to remove it if I wanted, which I did. Upon getting into the space, he said it was a good thing I had him remove it as the nest he saw was old and the new nest was behind it. The bees kept entering the house (where from we don't know), so my husband purchased a camera to use inside the fireplace vent where the original nest was. There was a huge nest behind the "new nest" that was the actual problem. He had to exterminate and remove it himself. I would think part of exterminating a "cavity" (vent hose/fireplace surround on the outside) to make sure the nest was all removed, would be a camera used by the exterminator, particularly where it was located. The space inside of the vent hose (which was decimated by the bees) is a large empty void. He also used a vacuum to suck out all the remains, which should be done by the company when you're dealing with an area like this.
